My idea of the notion that the goal should be reflected in the means is a built-in safety mechanism for dharma practice. The practice should reflect that. In the beginning it is about right understanding, and right understanding begins with a simple thing, and that is understanding what the goal is, the qualities of the goal, and then, step by step, in small, little increments, studying your attitude and seeing how you can transform your attitude so that the means reflects the goal.
